Ernie Robert Shoaf passed away on January 7, 2012, in Albuquerque, NM at 81 yrs. He was born in Carlton, CO on January 18, 1930, to Ernie Jacob and Leona (Thompson) Shoaf. Ernie grew up on a farm at Wiley, CO. After graduating from high school in Wiley, CO in 1948, he attended Otero JR College and graduated from Western State College. At college, he met and married the love of his life Beverly J. Dugan on June 2, 1950 at LaJunta, CO. 4 children were born, Michael, Joy, Edie and Patty. Ernie taught math at many schools. He has worked for NORAD & Boeing. He loved traveling and visited all 50 states. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Michael; brothers, George Shoaf & wife Marge, Bill Shoaf; sister, Merle Kingsley and husband, Kenneth and brother-in law; Vern Hudgins. Ernie is survived by his wife, Beverly of Albuquerque, NM; daughters Joy Emmons and Jack of Albuquerque, NM, Edie Markovic and Mark of Mesquite, TX and Patty Pieper and John of St Louis, MO; sister Ada Hudgins of Goodyear, AZ; sister-in-law Edna Shoaf of Pueblo, CO; 9 grandchildren, 11 great- grandchildren, nieces & nephews; other family & friends. A memorial service will be held Tuesday January, 10, 2012, 10:00 a.m. Agave del Sol, 7500 Montgomery Blvd NE Albuquerque, NM 87109. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the local Muscular Dystrophy Association, 6733 Academy Rd NE, #D1, Albuquerque, NM 87109.
